Phun at the Phunt

I have been struggling to get something on the paper for a while. Bear with me as this post will be a bit different. Trying to find my groove again.

It was 2 weeks before the Phunt when my knee gave away
Dull pain at first
Sharp in the end
I had to stop mid run
Oh no, I thought, what now

Strength training and bike
For 2 weeks
And it felt better

Not 100% so 50K became 25K
Better than nothing

RD lied as usual
He promised perfect conditions
He lied
Sunny and 40s
Awful
No snow
Barely any mud
He lied

Amy and I met friends new and old
We reunited with Mo and Sandy
We chatted, we got ready
Highway to Hell started blasting
It was time
Time to Phunt

We started easy
There would be no speed today
The year is young
No reason to risk a bigger injury
The course was muddy
The sun was warm
I had no sun glasses
Rookie mistake
RD lied

I lost Amy at some point
She was Phunting 2 loops
Apparently beer and jello shots were involved
What?

I stopped only at last aid station
To get water
And really just to say hi to Mo

I ran as fast as I could
I ran the whole way
Happy about that
Knee was achy but ok
I crossed the finish line in 2:48
Not bad, not great
Good decision not to run 2 loops
Beer me now

Waiting for Amy I refilled with food and beer
A lot of it

Amy finished ecstatic
She beat her time from last year
More food, friends and beer
Phunt is Phun
Phunt is great
We had phun at the Phunt
We will be back

Rd lied

I hope this didn't bore you too much.
Go forth and run!
